As art director of WGRZ-TV from 1992-1998, I was tasked with many creative projects from on-air promotions to print and identity. The WGRZ logo design was a product of the news production team. I worked through several iterations of the WGRZ logos very closely with the news and commercial production teams. The final result was a logo that portrays a solid foundation and trust through the strong colors and font. Coupled with a new set design, it helped WGRZ gain news viewers and rise up from the number 3 rated station in Buffalo, NY.
